 RULES!
« Thread Started on Mar 13, 2003, 7:42pm »

These rules are to be followed at all times, and if are violated then the person(s) will be delt with appropriately.

1. Illegal activity (all posts with illegal words in are to be deemed illegal unless the poster can prove otherwise).

2. Slanderous/Libellous claims towards other organisations, this includes clubs, DJ's, shops, online groups etc. Valid objections will be allowed as long as the poster has actually had dealings with said organisation and the criticism is not abusive.

3. FAO threads - we've got a perfectly good PM system for it!

Activity that is banned

1. Abusive comments through threads, private messages on the forum.

2. Using pornographic pictures/ blasphemy/ profanity as avatars/ signatures.

3. Blatant advertising in signatures.

Activity that is generally frowned upon

1. Use of Back To The Top (BTTT) or Bump

2. Un-necessarily large signatures

3. Pointless posting e.g. "Nice one", "Thanks" etc......

Adjudication by the Moderators

Moderators are here to ensure that the forum remains a suitable place for all age groups who are expected to use it, mainly 16-30 year olds. It is the moderators responsibility to edit posts as they see fit and reasonable to ensure the content is appropriate for all and to ensure that the site doesn't need not face any legal action, as the Admin cannot control the whole site by himself.

The following guidelines are the same set of rules which the moderators and administrators of this forum have and must abide by.

Posts

1. If a post is seen as unfit for all people to see then the post should be edited. All offending text should be removed and an explanation left in italic with the time and date, along with the moderator’s name that carried out the editing process. This rule applies to all areas of the forum, whether it is a slanderous opinion that has been posted or a snipe at another member. If repeated editing does not diffuse the situation then the thread should be removed to the trash can and an explanation sent via PM to the thread originator.

Slanderous/libellistic claims – A member is entitled to their own opinions of a company or product. This is allowable as long as the information is first hand and not through a third party; i.e. not allowed to say “my mate reckons company ‘X’ are useless”.

2. If a post/thread is started as a blatant attempt to offend another forum member, even if this is meant in fun some people may not see it as such and could act upon it. The thread should be moved to the trash can and an explanation sent via PM to the offending party. This rule applies to all areas of the forum.

3. Threads on illegal activity are not permitted. If this is suspected of being illegal then the thread should be edited and an explanation should be put in bold in the post. The thread starter should be notified via a PM.

4. Any thread which is perceived to be a potential problem i.e. a thread containing opinions of other forums similar to these etc, should have a notice posted by the moderator explaining that the thread is being monitored. Should this continue, the thread should be edited. If this does not diffuse the situation then the thread should be removed to the trash can and an explanation sent via PM to the thread originator and he/she will be banned.

5. Any thread containing generally offensive material, such as pornography, should be moved straight to the trash can. A PM should be sent to the thread originator. If the offensive material is added as a reply to a thread then it should be edited out using the correct procedure. Any links to offensive sites should be removed by the editing procedure.

6. Companies or Members are only allowed to ‘plug’ in threads and advertise on the forum as long as they are in the Links/Sites area, and not as a reply to a post or a general thread about their comapny. Any thread started by a company advertising a new product/service should be moved to the relevant section.

7. If a thread is a genuine question by a member of the forums and is posted in the wrong area i.e. a turntable thread in the mixer section, it should be moved to the relevant area of the forum i.e. Turntables. The thread will be re-direct which leaves an arrow in the index. This is down to the preferred choice of the Administrator\Moderator)

8. Should a post on the forum be reported for any reason then the moderator should act upon this.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DECISION OF THE MODERATORS IS FINAL. ANY REMARKS MADE ON A THREAD FOLLOWING A MODERATORS DECISION WHICH ARE IN CONTRADICTION TO THE DECISION MADE WILL BE REMOVED.

Happy Posting!
